Covid-19 Update – April 8, 2020

We hope that you are all keeping well and are staying healthy and safe.

Since our last update, the Ontario government has extended the "state of emergency" for the province into the month of April, and has mandated the shutdown of all non-essential businesses in order to help curb the spread of COVID-19. All dental offices continue to be advised to delay and reschedule all non-essential and elective dental services at this time. It is due to this, that we have made the necessary decision to continue to have our dental clinic closed for the remainder of the month of April and until further notice. All appointments relating to non-essential and elective services will be rescheduled at this time, and until the RCDSO and the Ministry of Health allow dental clinics to re-open and attend to regular and planned dental care. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope to learn more over the coming weeks. As always, we will continue to keep you informed and updated on our website, office voicemail and Facebook pages of any changes.

We will continue to attend to dental emergencies by triaging and making assessments on a case-by-case basis as per RCDSO recommendations over the phone and by electronic communications (see here for the RCDSO’s guidance on emergency situations: https://www.rcdso.org/en-ca/rcdso-members/dispatch-magazine/articles/5288). Please keep in mind that the RCDSO is very specific in its definition of a "true emergency situation" (i.e. oral-facial trauma, significant infection, prolonged bleeding or pain which cannot be managed by over-the-counter medications) and as such, most situations will likely be managed remotely to the best of our ability. In the event of a true dental emergency (tooth trauma, abscess or severe pain etc..), please send a TEXT message to our office line at 905-453-7777 and we will continue to respond to your emergencies within a 24 hour period. If immediate treatment is required, please call the Emergency Dental Clinic at 416-485-7121 ( which is open 7 days a week/ 24 hours a day).

We are hopeful that we will be able to re-open our clinic doors in the month of May, and will be monitoring the pandemic, as well as RCDSO and Ministry Guidelines closely.
