How we are Protecting you during the Covid Pandemic
We hope that you have all been keeping safe and healthy during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are Glad to be back and are ready to provide you service for all of your dental care needs! At Dentistry on Dusk we have been working very hard over the past few months to prepare for your safe and stress-free return to our friendly and caring award winning practice.
Things will look and feel different at your next visit to Dentistry on Dusk. Our enhanced COVID-19 safety measures, pre-screening procedures and protocols, along with our investment in new safety structures, equipment, and new clinic renovations with individual and enclosed clinic suites will provide a safe and comfortable environment.
The following are some of the many COVID-19 safety enhancements you will experience at your next visits with us:
1 The use of Surgically Clean Air Units in every operatory:
With 6 stages of surgical air filtration and sterilization that removes particles including odors, gases, mold, allergens and viruses, you will be breathing in clean and sterilized air. The air purifying units in each of our operatories have proprietary HEPA-Rx filters that meets or exceeds the guidelines for general surgery applications (removing 99.998% of particles at 0.1 microns)
2 Purevac HVE System:
The Purevac HVE System consists of the HVE Mirror Tip connected with high volume evacuation. This system enables our team to use a one-handed approach to evacuate the oral cavity of aerosols, splatter, fluid, and debris, while also providing visibility and illumination to the treatment area.
3 Flight DEFENDER Aerosol Evacuator:
Our DEFENDER Aerosol Evacuator is a chair side extra-oral suction system that is designed to help reduce the spread of airborne viruses, bacteria and particulate during dental treatments. The DEFENDER is a unique high power suction system that evacuates viruses, bacteria, dust, allergens and aerosols through a 3 stage HEPA Filtration system eliminating 99.97% of all particulate matter. This particulate is then further processed through UV-C disinfection.
4 ULV Fogger with Hypochlorous Acid Disinfection of Aerosols:
Our clinic will be implementing the use of ultra low volume (ULV) foggers and Hypochlorous Acid for additional aerosol disinfection. Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) is a naturally occurring chemical that is produced by our neutrophils, or white blood cells, to fight bacteria and inflammation after an infection or trauma with the unique power to eradicate dangerous organisms while keeping our own cells safe . HOCl is one of the only agents that is both nontoxic to the delicate cells that can heal our wounds while being lethal to almost all known dangerous bacteria and viruses that threaten our health.
5 E2O water purification system in all operatories with purging procedures.
The implementation of onsite water-line testing for each of our dental operatories and regular E2O hydrogen peroxide treatments are used to prevent Bacteria, Fungi and E.coli and faecal coliform from developing in our water lines. Keeping you safe and healthy through clean water from our closed dental operatory water system.

7 Mask wearing & Social distancing policy throughout our facility.
All of our dental operatories are now enclosed dental suites, equipped with glass doors and lead lined walls to align with our enhanced infection prevention protocols and patient privacy. Complementing our aerosol management techniques, enclosing our dental operatories allows us to mitigate the risk of cross-contamination to patients and providers and more efficiently remove any airborne particles.
8 Enhanced COVID and Infection Control Protocols ranging from:
- COVID-19 wellness pre-screening on the phone prior to dental appointments
- Continued Pre-screening prior to entry into our facility
- Infrared temperature read out and Medical history update and clearance prior to entry to reception area.
- Non- contact surface policies in force and hand sanitization on entry and exit of the office.
- Masked facility from entrance to exit
- Contactless payment
- Paperless administrative/ Clinical protocols
- Enhanced COVID-19 infection control protocols
- Strict adherence to social distancing policy and hand washing/ sanitizing protocols
- Staggered scheduling and limited patients allowed in our clinic at one time.
9 Clinical Area will now be closed off from the Administrative Reception Area by glass door and transom enclosure. Reducing the risk of cross-contamination and creating the separation of clinical and administration areas.
10 Tempered Glass Sneeze guards have been installed in the reception area.
Engineering an extra layer of protection between our administrative team and patients. Our sneeze guard will help maintain social distancing rules and reinforce public health practices. This will act to further safeguard our team members and patients from the spread of seasonal or airborne illnesses by creating physical spacing between people.
10 Onsite laundry facility for all clinical attire for enhanced public, patient and staff safety
11 Procedural changes to reduce aerosol created throughout Aerosol Generating Procedures.
12 Use of 1 % Hydrogen Peroxide oral rinse prior to every clinical assessment
We understand that these are unprecedented and challenging times for everyone, and we ask for your patience, understanding and cooperation in the coming weeks and months ahead. Just know, that the team at Dentistry on Dusk are here to help you and we look forward to seeing you very soon.
